The Bhutan Cricket Council Board’s Level-O (Level Zero) course on umpiring started at the Paro College of Education (PCE) in Paro today. 10 male and 4 female trainees of PCE are taking part in the two-day course. It is aimed at preparing them as umpires for the for the up-coming school and club tournaments. Dorji Loday, BCCB’s chief of umpires is conducting the course, which one the first day emphasized the rules of cricket. He says getting the interest in the trainees to learn is most important. And this has been seen in the trainees who are showing great interest in enhancing their umpiring skills. Tomorrow (Day 2, March 27) will be more focused on practical session and discussions. It also includes a session for scorers – where new scorers with learn the basic steps to scoring a game of cricket.
