An important query raised by one of the trainees was on why the new rule is being implemented more in “limited over matches” such as One Day cricket and Twenty20 matches.

Day 2: March 27, 2011

Day second started with questions and discussions on issues related to the rules and laws of cricket. An important query raised by one of the trainees was on why the new rule is being implemented more in “limited over matches” such as One Day cricket and Twenty20 matches. BCCB’s Dorji Loday answered that the new rule might be to make the limited over matches more interesting since it is so much on demand. He added that as long as the new rules and innovation in games does not hamper the laws of the game, rules can be implemented.

Practical sessions were conducted in the afternoon. Trainees practiced their skills and honed it according to different match scenarios that were put into play. Dorji Loday emphasized on the most controversial decision that is Leg before Wicket or LBW. Methodology of marking  creases were also showed to the trainees. He said umpires will play a big role in improving the standard of cricket in Bhutan.
